Korean Air Lines Co. said Tuesday that it has built its 1,000th winglet for the Airbus A320 series passenger jets, a record that the company said highlights its growing role as a global aircraft parts maker.
South Korea's No. 1 flag carrier has been engaged in making military aircraft under license since 1976 and parts for civilian planes from 1986 onwards. It took just 22 months to hand over the wing part to Airbus SAS, it said.
